Futures overnight test 2880 before recovering to 2925. Negative gamma levels essentially unchanged. Obviously we are looking for another day of large volatility. Futures overnighted tested fresh lows of 3060 and have since move up a bit. There are a few charts circulating showing extreme put buying – the complete opposite of the extreme call buying we saw just last week. A wild morning in futures has us swinging from 3150->3100->3150. 3100 has formed as a large spot for both call and put positions, with lots of puts at 3150. Quite an overnight range in futures (~3260-3225) has us still holding close to the key 3250 area with VIX still near highs. We’ve moved well through the zero gamma area and are testing the first “put wall” and “absolute gamma strike”. Puts are now in control of gamma which indicates more volatility ahead. I would not look at the put wall as a solid support...
